How much Speech Therapy is
needed for Aphasia Recovery?

Research indicates that adults with aphasia need to receive at least 9 hours of language stimulation every week to continue making positive progress.

The average aphasic patient (6 months post stroke) receives about 2 hours of therapy a week over the course of a year. Full recovery will not happen without enough therapy.

You can easily receive 9 hours of therapy per week using our DVDs.

Researchers believe that intensive language therapy may prompt the brain to move language function to another area of the brain not affected by stroke. This move (or re-mapping) is called brain plasticity.

Task-specific practice appears to be the key to turning on the brain's plasticity. See how our video sample provides this task-specific practice.

Our videos have helped hundreds of people by providing task-specific therapy. Some of our customers report that our programs have helped their loved one even after one and a half years post stroke. See our Success Stories.
